An absolutely gorgeous pair of dangling?diamond earrings from the Early Victorian (ca1850s) era! These beautiful earrings are crafted out?of sterling silver and feature 14kt?rose gold accents, creating a subtle mixed metals design. Swinging from the decorative topper is a circular link adorned with 9 old Rose Cut diamonds, forming a gorgeous floral shaped cluster. The largest stone rests in a bezel setting at the center, and is surrounded by lovely scalloped cutouts that rest in between each diamond that forms the outer border. Finishing the link?is wonderful milgrain detail throughout that adds lovely texture to the eye-catching design. The topper adorns another relatively large old Rose Cut diamond, which collectively gives the two earrings a total approximate weight of 1.60ctw between both earrings. The surmount?is crafted out of rose gold and topped with sterling silver, and each earring hangs from a simple 14kt yellow?gold wire at the top. The earrings frame the face beautifully and swing with lovely movement, allowing each diamond to catch the light brilliantly. A simply stunning pair of Victorian earrings, they?would be suitable for everyday wear or special occasions, and would make an exceptional addition to any collection!
Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 1 1/2" long (including the wires at the top), and measures about 5/8" wide and is slightly less than 1/4" thick.?
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling and gold setting and all of the diamonds are intact and securely set. The earring wires are secure and in good working condition. There is a slight darkened patina on the surface of the silver, which is normal given the age of the piece and adds to its beauty and character.?Due to the hand cut nature of old Rose Cut diamonds, the shape of the stones do not have perfect symmetry. This reflects the age and genuine appearance of antique diamonds.
